Crime Scene Zero is a South Korean reality show that debuted on Netflix on September 23, 2025. It is the fifth season of the Crime Scene series, where a group of celebrities take on roles as suspects or detectives in made-up murder cases. The players visit detailed crime scenes, collect evidence like photos and notes, question each other, and vote to find the hidden killer. Correct guesses earn prize money, while the killer wins if they stay undetected. The format mixes puzzle-solving with acting and quick thinking.
The first four episodes form Part 1of Crime Scene Zero and feature two cases. Episodes 1 and 2 explore a doctor’s death in an old hospital full of secrets. Episodes 3 and 4 shift to a family funeral where a business tycoon’s son turns up dead in a coffin. These stories draw from real research but stay fictional, with sets built to look real. The regular cast includes Jang Jin, Park Ji-yoon, Jang Dong-min, Kim Ji-hoon, and An Yu-jin, plus guests for each round.
Watch the show on Netflix, new episodes drop weekly on Tuesdays. Part 2, episodes 5 to 8, arrives September 30, 2025, with more twists in fresh locations.
The abandoned hospital case: Crime Scene Zero episodes 1-2

In Episodes 1 and 2 of Crime Scene Zero, the action starts in Yeonjidol village at an abandoned psychiatric hospital closed since 2013. The victim is Dr. Jang Je-in, the former director, found dead, tangled in wires outside the building in 2018. Five suspects gather: the village head (played by Jang Dong-min, age 60 in role), the victim’s cousin (Jang Jin, 51), a sales rep with a crush on the victim known as Kim Handsome (Kim Ji-hoon, 32), a house-call doctor (An Yu-jin, 46), and a local shaman (Park Ji-yoon, 46). An Yu-jin also acts as the detective, whose vote counts double.
The group gets a briefing on the case, then has 15 minutes to search the site. They find a hidden sixth floor with signs of illegal lobotomies and organ sales. Clues point to shady deals, like patients sent to work for the village head or a mummified body in the shaman’s shrine. During questioning, suspects share backstories: the doctor’s euthanasia side job via a website, the cousin’s hunt for buried gold, and the shaman’s grudge over a past complaint.
Tensions rise as alibis clash. The sales rep suffers from erotomania, believing the victim loved him. In the end, votes go to the shaman, who gets three tallies including the detective’s double vote. This leads to the reveal: the shaman is the killer. Her motive ties to high school bullying by the victim, expulsion, and a later tragedy where the victim took her son’s heart for a transplant. She lured the doctor back for revenge five years later. The innocent voters win 2 million won each.
The kimchi empire funeral: Crime Scene Zero episodes 3-4

The Crime Scene Zero episodes 3 and 4 move to the funeral of Jang Breadwinner, CEO of a 500 billion won kimchi company. Guests expect to mourn him, but his sister from the USA demands to see the body. Inside the coffin lies his youngest son, Jang Youngest, poisoned and strangled. The family becomes suspects: eldest son Jang Eldest (Jang Jin, 48), daughter Jang Daughter (Jang Dong-min, 38), second wife Park Wife (Park Ji-yoon, 59), daughter’s fiancé Kim Sweetheart (Kim Ji-hoon, 33), and the widow of the second son, Joo Daughter-in-Law (guest Joo Hyun-young, 36). An Yu-jin returns as a detective.
After the shock, the group searches the house. Clues uncover family fights over inheritance. The will gives everything to charity if greed shows. Secrets emerge: Kim Sweetheart is Park Wife’s real son with Jang Breadwinner, Jang Eldest lost a business idea to the victim, and the daughter has anger issues. Park Wife pushes debts onto the family, while Joo Daughter-in-Law hides a poor past and old ties to Kim Sweetheart. Evidence includes methanol poison traces and switched bodies.
Interrogations reveal Jang Youngest’s romances and rivalries. The victim drank soju, blocking the poison at first, leading to strangling. Votes pile on Joo’s Daughter-in-Law for her money motives. She is named the killer. Her plan: poison to claim shares, then swap bodies to hide it. But the sister’s visit exposed her. The innocents win again. This case shows how wealth sparks betrayal in a tight-knit business family.
With the killer unveiled in both cases, the players have claimed their prize, but the real victory belongs to the audience who gets to play along. Did you guess the correct culprit? As the clues reset and a new location awaits in Crime Scene Zero Part 2, the only question that remains is: are you ready to investigate the next crime?
