In March 2021, Cochran was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison on charges of wire fraud and money laundering. She was also required to pay close to $2.6 million in restitution to her victims. In February 2019, her husband, Michael Cochran, died under suspicious circumstances. At first, his death was thought to be due to natural causes, but his body was later dug up, and forensic testing confirmed that he had been poisoned using insulin.
