Sakamoto Days episode 2 was packed with a whole bunch of new faces, both enemies and friends. This episode featured another top-notch battle between Taro Sakamoto and Bacho & Son Hee while also introducing a new character, Lu Shaotang.
The episode begins with Shin praising Mr. Sakamoto for his actions and how he saved Shin the other day. Being a loudmouth, Shin spoke a bit too loudly, and Sakamoto’s wife overheard Taro’s involvement in fights. That’s when she threatened Sakamoto, saying that if he ended up killing people again, she would divorce him. This is because of the very first rule of the Sakamoto family which is – “Never Kill Anyone”.
Sakamoto’s further involvement in fighting with the bad guys, including Bacho and Son Hee, initiates when he walks to Nikita Chinatown to buy some meat buns for his daughter. After buying meat buns and returning home, the meat buns get into very bad shape as Lu Shaotang crashes into Sakamoto while jumping off the building to avoid getting caught by the bad guys.
Who is Lu Shaotang and Why Sakamoto Tried To Save Her?

Lu Shaotang is a member of a mafia family that is very well known and renowned as the Lu family. She is on the run to defend a key that was given to her by her parents. This key is for the safe that holds the Lu family’s lineage treasures. The Chairman of Danshokai eagerly wants that key so he can get his hands on the Lu family’s treasure. To obtain that key, he is willing to do absolutely anything, even killing. She is showcased running away from the men sent by the Chairman of Danshokai himself.
That’s when she ended up meeting Taro Sakamoto and Shin. Seeing her surrounded by the bad guys, Sakamoto and Shin tried to help and escaped the scene with Shaotang, leaving the bad guys behind. On the way, Sakamoto promised her that he would safeguard her until this was over. After hearing her story of why she was on the run, in return, he asked her to make meat buns for him.
Right after Sakamoto’s declaration, Bacho and Son Hee arrive at the scene and kick Sakamoto so hard that he gets tossed into a nearby building. This two-assassin duo is known for their ruthless killing without question and for taking their victims’ heads off their bodies to sketch their whereabouts. While Sakamoto was out of the picture, Shin and Shaotang tried to defeat these twin assassins, but unfortunately, they were no match for the assassin duo.
Why Sakamoto Stopped Killing?

While defending Shaotang, Sakamoto fought the twin assassin duo all by himself and defeated both of them without much effort. The twin assassins are undoubtedly formidable foes but still no match for Sakamoto. They used their special technique on Sakamoto but still couldn’t leave a single scratch on him.
While fighting the duo, Sakamoto was asked why he was defending Shaotang even though he didn’t know her, upon which Shin read his thoughts—how he was bloodstained and coming home to meet his wife. She persuaded him not to harm anyone, as everyone has someone they cherish.
After defeating Bacho and Son Hee, Sakamoto, Shin, and Shaotang went to a place where her family’s safe was located. They found the Chairman there, and instead of killing him, Shaotang beat him with her fists and opened the safe to see what was in there.
Among the treasure, there was a booze bottle, which the three of them drank together while eating the out-of-shape meat buns.
In the end of episode 2, Shaotang was also showcased joining Sakamoto’s convenience store, and a glimpse of an unknown organization was shown, holding a poster of Sakamoto, Shin, and Shaotang, claiming that Sakamoto had a billion-yen bounty on his head.
