Former Saturday Night Live (SNL) cast member Ana Gasteyer recently made a hint about the return of the cherished characters Marty and Bobbi Mohan-Culp at the next SNL50: The Homecoming Concert in an interview on NBC’s Today show. Will Ferrell, who played Marty, and Gasteyer, who played Bobbi, were the musically minded pair who made their hilarious appearances on Saturday Night Live and are also known for this famous performance.
By imitating a recent light-hearted exchange with actress Cynthia Erivo, Gasteyer cleverly sidestepped direct questions regarding the 50th anniversary plans during the interview. She alluded to the customary last-minute preparations for the concert and expressed her delight about getting back together with old coworkers. Co-host Paula Pell also brought up the prospect of other previous cast members making an appearance as well as the possibilities for a new Debbie Downer sketch.
Gasteyer was at the SNL during the years from 1996 to 2002, and while being an actor, she had some very memorable characters and sketches under her name. It would be meaningful to have her share thoughts on the upcoming concert now, especially for longtime fans.
For those interested in attending in person, free tickets are available through applications. The concert will also be simulcast to select IMAX theaters, providing fans with an experience akin to that of the live event. This special occasion gives fans the opportunity to consider what SNL has meant to comedy and television during these past 50 years.
